Our Story

We started U.S. Immigration for Canadians 1.) because we are Canadian and 2.) because there is a need for quality immigration services about the intricacies of U.S. immigration – specifically to meet the needs of Canadians.

Our law firm, Heitz Immigration Law is based in Lake Worth, Florida where we work with clients from all over the world providing U.S. immigration services.

We strive to help our fellow Canadians who want to live and work in the U.S. so they can enjoy the best of both worlds, like we do!

Meet the Team:

Nadine Heitz, Esq.

Nadine Heitz, Esq.

Immigration Attorney

Nadine Heitz grew up in Toronto, where she was born to German immigrant parents who came to Canada for a better future. Nadine learned from a young age, the value of relationships with people of different cultures, growing up in a multicultural community in the heart of the city. After a successful career as a marketing and advertising manager working for Eaton’s Department Stores, Nadine brought her family to the U.S. on a TN visa to manage a high volume immigration law practice. It was here that she began her journey towards a career in law while she transitioned to the H-1B visa, then a green card, and then U.S. citizenship. Nadine obtained her J.D. degree from Northwestern California University School of Law and her B.A. degree from York University in Toronto. Nadine is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice immigration law in all 50 states.

Lateef Stephen

Lateef Stephen

Paralegal

When Lateef Stephen first moved to the U.S. from Canada at the crucial age of 13, he had misgivings about leaving his friends and home behind, as most young people at that age would. While the transition was hard at first, Lateef went on to enjoy the sunny climate and lifestyle of South Florida and became an avid video game enthusiast, competing in gaming tournaments throughout Florida where he frequently takes first place. When Lateef is not in front of his computer, he enjoys skate-boarding, bowling and going to the movies with his friends. Lateef obtained his A.S. degree in Paralegal Studies at Palm Beach State College and currently attends Florida Gulf Coast University where he is pursuing a B.Sc. in Legal Studies. Lateef works for Heitz Immigration Law remotely providing support to the attorney and assisting with client files.

Yasmeen Stephen

Yasmeen Stephen

Administrative Assistant

Yasmeen moved to the U.S. from Canada as a child when she was 10 years old, making her transition fairly smooth at this young age. But Yasmeen has never forgotten her Canadian heritage and will tell you that she experienced the best childhood because of the wonderful schools and teachers she encountered during her formative years in Toronto. Yasmeen hopes to someday return to Canada to live with her own family. She especially misses the four seasons! Living in South Florida’s year round summer, Yasmeen dreams of autumn and winter fashions where she can wear boots, coats and scarves. Yasmeen currently attends Palm Beach State College where she is completing her B.A. degree while she works part-time for Heitz Immigration Law providing much needed administrative support to the firm. Yasmeen plans to attend law school in the future and has a strong interest in environmental law.
